Dear Mr./ Ms.:

We are pleased to inform you that the II Forum of Regional Economy. Economic Forum of La Rioja will take place in Logroño on the 9th, 10th and 11th of May 2006, organised by the Dept. of Agriculture and Economic Development of the Government of la Rioja and the Chamber of Commerce of La Rioja, with the scientific direction of the prestigious professor and counsellor of the Spanish Court of Audit, Juan Velarde.

This second edition of the Forum pretends offer the necessary instruments to the actors of the regional economies to confront the challenges which they face to preserve the results and the quality of life in a frame of action increasingly difficultly, crowded and competitively. With this purpose, the current situation will be analysed closely in such a way that the capture of decisions is facilitated before the consequences of the free traffic of products, the capitals and persons and of the changes in the economic policies.

To penetrate to the maximum into the current situation, for the first time they will be able to present works, in such a way that in the frame of the Forum there are offered ideas that serve to optimize the work of any actor of the regional economies. This initiative will complete the opinions and debates that arise in the conferences, round tables and other initiatives that shape the program of this Forum.

The II Forum of Regional Economy will congregate to all the members of the sector, in order to debate and to interchange opinions in benefit of our regions. Only of this form, with the participation of all the persons that we work for and for the socio-economic well-being of the citizens, we will obtain the last purpose of the Forum: to improve the efficiency and efficiency of the socio-economic systems and the quality of life in our regions.

For all this, we are sure that you will take part in this only and indispensable appointment of a sector that, any more that never, it needs from this type of instruments to confront the challenges imposed by the current importance.
